Visualization of Deflected Double Weave

One of the most difficult things with designing deflected double weave projects is interpreting what the finished piece will look like, given the organic, curvilinear deflection that takes place with wet finishing.

I've been playing around with a lot of settings in Affinity Photo for a few months so that I can simulate the final fabric, which will help with design choices, and here's what I've come up with.

The top image is what my weaving software shows as a 'fabric view'. It is not remotely what the finished weaving will look like though. By using a filter, Noise > Dust and Scratches and playing around with the settings, I can get a very accurate look of the final piece. I'm pretty happy with the accuracy of this look.

This design is for a throw which will be woven in 8/4 cotton, and shows a section of the top of the design. I will need to dye the neutral amber/tobacco/beige for it first.
