I told you I was obsessed with data

This is the approach I'm using for the tapestry line of yarn. This is a group of tints, meaning that I start first with a color formula that I think is going to work, and dye just one skein first to test my theory. Then I'll dye a range, using .1%, .25%, .50%, 1.50% and 2% amounts of dye to the same weight of fiber.


In this case, there is a color shift in the darker shades that I can't explain, except that I added more acid to the dyebath at the end, so I'm going to have to do it over at some point.


But. This color is just gorgeous in person, truly vivid and radiant.


Lanaset dyes used: Violet, Bordeaux, Red 2B, Orange.
