April Distraction is an asymetrical lace shawl I designed as a coping mechanism during the early COVID-19 period of "social distancing". I designed this pattern with the concept that a little concentration, a little repetition, and not an overwhelming amount of focus to complete suited the moment.

The shawl is knit in one piece, increasing on one side to form the asymmetrical crescent/triangle shape. The stitch patterns were inspired by rock erosions that take thousands of years to form from ripples into grand arches.

Suitable for lace, fingering or sportweight yarn.

Pattern is charted only, no line-by-line instructions.

Finished size varies with yarn, needle size and your personal gauge. Sample shown, knit in Louet Gems Sportweight with US 6 (4mm) needles has a blocked size of 60" at the curved neck edge.

Intermediate level. PDF pattern, 7 pages. This sale is for a digital knitting pattern, not a finished object.
