This is a very pretty vintage yarn. The color is cream. The spin is different from a lot of mohair yarns, in that the core is more substantial, and the halo slightly less pronounced (compared to the Louet mohair, for instance). I think it would make a lovely shawl or throw, either knitted, crocheted or woven.

 

I haven't been able to find out much about this yarn; it's not in the Ravelry database, which is rare. I believe it is from Italy (at least the storage bags it came in were labeled as such). I have six full balls plus this partial one that I was able to get good detail pictures of to show you the texture (plus, it just looks cool, doesn't it, in that star shape?). I'll swatch this remnant up and add it here when it's complete.
