Hyacinth is a dk weight cotton blend with a just-barely thick/thin texture. A nice, basic navy; you could get a knit baby hat from one skein, possibly a crocheted one, though in a smaller size (crochet uses more yarn than knitting). A good size adult lace cowl wouldn't take more than 300 yards, and would be nice for someone sensitive to wool.
