japanese stitch collections
As a designer, one of my most valuable assets is my collection of stitch pattern books. I have stacks of them, from the original Barbara Walker classics to the hard-to-find Japanese stitch collections. This is one of my newest ones —
There are no written directions for these stitch patterns. You will need to know how to read charts, but that said, all of the patterns are very legible and easy to follow. The charts are just a bit small for my eyes, but with good lighting I can use them.
The patterns tend to be extremely complex, and sometimes more isn't better, it's just more. But you can easily deconstruct the parts that you want to use, and rechart them.
